The Convening will provide state teams with the opportunity to strategize with states across the nation; review best practice models and receive technical assistance to advance REACH HIGHER goals. Through school counselor leadership and collaborative partnerships, we hope to dramatically increase the number of traditionally underserved students prepared for, entering, and succeeding in postsecondary education by focusing on ways to strengthen, align, and expand the college-going pipeline locally, and concomitantly, at the state and national levels.

Agenda Highlights

1. Cross Sector Dialogue
   Break out sessions will facilitate interactive discussions with other participants, across states, with similar work roles and functions. These sessions will enable participants to capture best practices and brainstorm ideas to overcome the barriers and challenges of implementing collaborative college advising models.
2. Technical Assistance
   This session will provide the opportunity to receive customized feedback on strategies, barriers and challenges to MEASURE implementation, while also helping to identify structures and resources required to break down barriers.
3. Action Planning
   Face to face and intentional team time to discuss and plan a state-wide effort to identify a key metric to be measured.
4. Best Practice Methods From The Field
   Teams will hear from panels that serve as models of “Measurement, Mobilization and Collaboration”.
5. Key Discussion Areas/Levers Of Change
   Policy, Research, Pre-Service/In-Service, Standards Credentialing, Higher Ed/K-12 Partnerships, Practice – Student Outcomes.
